FAQ

Welcome to Camp

Nestled high in the Colorado Rockies, Ramah in the Rockies is the country’s only kosher outdoor adventure camp with an immersive Jewish program.

Our mission is to empower campers and staff with transformative nature-based experiences that build confidence and inspire spiritual, physical, and social-emotional growth. We foster belonging today and a resilient, vibrant Jewish community for tomorrow.

We encourage you to explore more of our website to discover what makes our kehillah kedosha (holy community) a home for adventure, growth, and joyful Jewish living!

Our Foundation

Personal growth outdoors

Campers can choose from a wide variety of activities such as rock climbing, farming, and mountain biking. All chuggim (activities) at camp are designed to encourage campers to step out of their comfort zone and foster resilience.

Jewish Identity & Community

Ramah in the Rockies helps campers experience Judaism as something they can feel and live through music, friendship, and moments of wonder that nurture pride, purpose, and connection.

Environmental Connection

Situated on 360 acres at 8,000 feet in the Pike National Forest, Ramah in the Rockies helps campers and staff develop a deep appreciation for nature and a commitment to caring for the earth. Our camp serves as a living laboratory for sustainability and hands-on environmental learning.

Masa’ot

Backcountry Excursions - מַסָּעוֹת

At Ramah in the Rockies, our campers participate in masa’ot (backcountry excursions) every other week. While our youngest chalutzim (campers) start small with an overnight camping experience, older campers spend three to six days exploring the Colorado backcountry!

Masa is an opportunity for campers to hone their outdoor skills, challenge themselves, and connect with friends. With options ranging from rock climbing to white water rafting, every camper is sure to have an unforgettable adventure.

Each masa is unique: some chalutzim may be backpacking for four or eight hours a day, others learn the intricacies of off-grid living and permaculture farming, and some safely zoom down some of the best mountain biking trails in the state. No matter which masa they participate in, all of our campers return to base camp covered in dirt, smiling, and confident in themselves and their ability to conquer life’s challenges!
